CLAG Professional Conference Travel Grants – Rolling Application Review
The Conference of Latin American Geography (CLAG) aims to promote scholarly inquiry among researchers of Latin American geography by holding international scholarly meetings, publishing an international scholarly journal (Journal of Latin American Geography-JLAG), and supporting research and publication.
CLAG has limited funds available ($500 per person: to be reimbursed) to support scholars from the Global South and/or early career professionals in the USA for attendance of the 38th CLAG 2024 in Viejo San Juan, Puerto Rico. This opportunity is not for students, if you are a student please see the Student Travel Grant for CLAG 2024.
To apply follow these steps:
- Ensure that your membership to CLAG is up to date (non-members cannot receive conference funding).
- Please indicate in a paragraph your interest in applying for a competitive funding opportunity ($500) for reimbursement of travel funds to the 38th CLAG 2024 in Viejo San Juan, Puerto Rico. Among CLAG’s goals in making funds available are to assist scholars who have limited financial resources available from their institution and to broaden representation of, and contributions to, CLAG. Preference will be given to presenters (papers or posters) and those who demonstrate how conference attendance provides clear benefits to themselves and to CLAG.
- Please submit an abstract (and/or session proposal) in the same format requested by the conference so that the Conference Travel Grant committee can be informed of your scholarly focus.
- Apply here.
Applications will be reviewed every two weeks starting on January 19 2024. Awardees will be notified shortly after each review period. Once all awards are allocated, no further applications will be accepted. Note that funds will be dispersed after the conference as reimbursements.
